Wanting to figure out exactly what FSB I have as am wanting to find a replacement to cut down just to make a gas block out of for a full length rail system I'm adding. I bought the gun used and to my best knowledge this came off of a Colt barrel. I found what I thought was a Mil-Spec A2 FSB at a local gun shop that had already been chopped down but when I tried to install on my barrel it did not line up with the existing pin & port location on my barrel and I do not understand why? Below is the pics of my original. Hope you guys can tell me what I have as well as thoughts on why the other FSB would not line up.

| Did the gas block fit over the barrel far enough or did it get stuck? If it got stuck and didn't even slide close to the gas port location before it stopped, you may have a different diameter barrel than what the front sight base was designed for. Also try putting the gas block on reverse of what you did the first time. If you still have the new gas block, post some pictures of it on the barrel. |
| Looking at the pin location on your FSB compared to mine, my pins are further rear than yours.... Your FSB is F-marked so it is mil-spec but the pin location is different compared to mine. Best bet may be to buy a clamp on gas block or cut the FSB you have right now. |

Tapper pins are match drilled at assembly, good luck finding a used one that will line up. Best option cut yours down. I think that nailed it...... The only reason why I didn't want to cut it was incase I wanted to re-install the FSB back to original once I've lost interest in the latest fade.
