A buddy of mine bought an AR at a gun show the other day.so we took it home and took it apart a see what it was comprised of really, as to what the guy at the gun show said it was.the lower is a PWA with a two stage trigger, and the upper (from what the gun show guy said is suppose to be a RRA) it is a 20" threaded Stainless barrel chambered in .223 with an a2 stock and carry handle.under the barrel is markings stating SS––W––1/8 which i take to mean stainless with a wylde chamber with 1 in 8 twist.two questions i would like answered are:
1)only markings on the upper receiver just in front of the rear sight is a round circle with a scope reticle in it followed by AR,is this an old RRA upper?
2)what gauges would you use to check a wylde chamber with, usgi 5.56 nato or basic .223 gauges to check the headspace?

Circle/Crosshairs w/ "AR" = ArmaLite

The Wylde chamber allows you to safely use any 5.56 NATO round, and still use .223 also.
