I was told this was a Young Manufacturing BCG when I bought it from SOG Armory. I didnt realize till I got home it lacked their "Y/M" laser mark. Looking at pics it does appear to be one of their M-16 Slick Sides. The bolt is marked "CM" but there is no marks anywhere on the carrier. The gas key was not staked which is consistent with Young.

Yeah $399, but thats not what I paid, im not that desperate to finish this upper! LOL
It didnt come in anything, I bought just the BCG. I didnt take their tag off yet because if this isnt a real Young BCG im going to be sending it back for a refund! This upper is a Daniel barrel and DSA upper receiver. I want another top shelf brand for the BCG. No reason to cheap out on the second most important part! I cant believe I missed the slick side part as I would have paid even less or passed all together, thats what I get for being in a hurry... |

Young replied to my emailed photos confirming the carrier is in fact theres. They sell them to SOG who puts the carrier key and bolt on it.
So next question, anyone want a slick side BCG? I personally would rather have the F/A scallops. Straight trade preferred... |
| I paid less than $300 as a package deal. Which is still too much but if you want parts when they are scarce you have to pay more. My buddy is a dealer so I get dealer cost on everything else I buy so it offsets nicely when I occasionally have to pay inflated prices. The bummer is that its a slick side. Had I noticed that ahead of time I would have passed and bought a different BCG from another guy. Im not looking for a Colt original SP1 style setup... =( |
