I am building up my first AR. Everything went pretty easy except for the bolt catch roll pin. Question? Are the tabs supposed to be drilled thru on both sides? Only one side is drilled thru. The other side is drilled half way. hinking.gif Thanks

HI newb, welcome aboard

Now for the bad news..................

Per tacked threads above and as you can see here, YES, it should go completely through:

You are going to have to return your lower to where ya bought it and they should be happy to replace it for you.

ps - or either ya better have one of those special long drill bits and a drill press, first call the folks ya got your lower from

Might be nice and I suspect others might be interested in knowing what brand of lower this is and IF (god-forbid you should have any replacement problems, which I doubt) who you got it from.

Shit happens and even the best manufacturers have a bad day ever now and then - unless this lower is associated with Vulcan or Hesse (which are known to have bad years and longer periods).

What terrible luck for a first build. Also interested to hear which manufacturer had this issue. If it were mine I'd probably attempt to fix the problem and end up gnarfing it beyond repair. But that's how I operate. haha. Good luck
