I own a Colt AR-15, it is marked Colt Sporter on the side, with a serial number as  MH 0004###.

This serial number places this rifle in the pre-ban area, according to the 24th addition of the blue book of gun values......

My question is, if this is pre-ban why is there no baynoet lug????it does have a suppressor on it...it is a bird cage model, with the bottom all enclosed and the top with the open serations. It is the full 20 in length with the new front stock style on it.....

Can someone please help! is this a pre-ban or no......................THANKS!   Tom

It's a pre-ban , "Sporter" model. Colt made them without bayo lugs for quite a while even before the 1994 ban. I say it's "pre-ban" assuming you looked up the numbers correctly, but the lack of a bayo lug was  normal for a Sporter, even before the ban.

Great thanks.....That add's to the value according to the book! They list it as non-pre ban at 850, and as a Pre-Ban it jumps to 1,300 as 98% and 1,200 to 95%.....

THANKS AGAIN GENTS!

Its not really going to sell for that much, except POSSIBLY to a few people in the states with bans that allow prebans to be imported still.  With the expiration of the ban, there are plenty of prebans available on the market now, since you can get all the banned features on noban rifles.

Thanks again to all, and by the way I paid 750.00 for her....I traded a glock 19 that was used and abused and a Smith Model 686 for this weapon.....I had a total of 750.00 into both of those handguns....
