I just started to make my 300 AAC Blackout Build and everything was going within my budget until I got to the handguards. I want to in the end use like a 15" handguard to cover the gas block and make it look nice however that does not fit into my budget. I have some old standard handguards from previous switch outs (Carbine Length) that I want to use at the moment till I have enough money to get what I want. I need someone to tell me what parts ill need in order to use my standard handguards. I have never used standard handguards before in a build or on any rifle I have owned. Also if I use them for now will it be major work to later change everything out to a free floated handguard?
Below is a list of parts that I have made that I think is what I will need to assemble the firearm. What am I missing in order to make those handguards work? Thanks it must be late.... I have no idea why I didn't think to look at a schematic. Personally, I'd just hold out and save up for a bit rather than do it twice, especially if you have to take the barrell nut on and off depending on the handguards you choose. Just something to think about. |
| I recently built two in Johny Cash fashion( one piece at a time). I stumbled across AT3 tactical free float rails. There is nothing special about them except the price, super cheap. I bought them with super low expectations just so that I could shoot while saving for a DD, Larue, or KAC. The snug up well, hold tight under fire and are in spec enough to accept all rail attachments. I used a 12" and a 14.75" |
