[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Help With Optic Decision

I have a RRA LAR-15 Tactical CAR UTE2.......I want to put an optic on the 'rail' , but need it to co-witness with the rear sight

It does not a flat top upper, but has the RRA upper mounted sight rail, mounted on the upper.

Like the upper pictured in the lower left side picture:

With the universal tactial upper type of mount and sight up, what can I use?

I mounted my Eotech 512 on the sight rail, and it just sits too high on the rail, so the iron sights are on the bottom portion of the EOtech sight window....

I then mounted the Eotech on the Surefire M73 hadguard rails, and it looks really good, but is way to far away from my face

Other than remove the sight rail and mount the Eotech directly on the upper and run a rear BUIS, what can I do?

Well I see on that page that they had A-4 uppers for $125...OR I can see the purchase of an aimpoint in your future!

I had this set up on a RRA tactical handle. You can use a low mount ring. I had a Burris XTS with a Burris low mount like this It co-witnessed perfect. It should work the same one yours.

Do the Aimpoints sit lower than the Eotechs?
