I am looking at a barrel offered to me, to use on my 601 build, & cannot tell if the FSB is cast or forged. On a cast FSB is the word "UP" & the arrow engraved (below the surface) or are they above the surface? Any other way to tell if it is cast or not? Thanks for any & all help.

Thanks guys! It is not cast. I forgot about looking at RetroBlackRifle.com before posting this. He has good pics of one over there. It almost appears that the back of the sight base sits even with the HG cap on the cast FSB. Unlike the forged ones in his pictures that sit up higher than the HG cap. Blanco: I should have just bought yours when I had the chance, instead of worrying about the next few months finances. I found a part time job that pays cash each day, & now I have spare cash. |
Sorry man. The other poster in this thread is the guy you'd have to talk to about my barrel  If you had said you wanted it but it would take awhile, i woulda held it for ya. Sorry man  You'll find one!

Dang, if I'd a known that I would a' took it. I just thought you needed the $$ right now for that 601 upper. Oh well. |
Well I did but I used $140 from my tax stamp fund and then used the money from the 602 barrel to "reimburse" that and sent out the F1 last week. BTW, the upper should be here tomorrow or the next day
