Hey guys, I built a M4rgy in January and used a RRA fixed collapsible stock, Bushmaster lower, RRA lower parts, etc.  The thing has ran great for the first thousand rds or so and now the last two times to the range the bolt has hung up.  I pulled the rifle apart and found that the hard plastic tip of the buffer had gotten mangled and part of it was hanging on the inside of the buffer tube. I cleaned it up the other day (removed loose plastic) and it completely fell apart today, again jamming the system up. Thank god I had my 20" bushie with me so I just swapped lowers and continued sighting in and anjoying my new Aimpoint Comp.

So I guess my question is, I see these buffer technologies buffers for sale on Ebay and thought about getting one of those anyway.  Any thoughts on those or should I track down the guys I bought the parts from at the next gunshow.  I have not even contacted them and don't want to mention the name cause the rifle has been perfect for at least 1K rds thru it and I am sure they would replace the parts if I asked, I just wandered about these buffers and thought it was a good time to ask.

Thanks,
Eric

Seem to me that you should track down the source of the Problem, i dont think its the quality of the Buffer.
If the Gun is destroying the Beffer there may be other Mechanical problems here.
What Ammo were you using ? Too much of a Hot ammo will wear your Buffer more.
If the Buffer is wearing out i would look at the Buffer Spring , see if the Spring is too light or if its the correct spring to begin with. Also Shake the Buffer up and down and see if the Counterweight is working , you should hear it shaking in the Buffer.

The weight it moving freely, at least it rattles when shook.  I have been using mostly Wolf 55grn. and some Lake city as well. I'll contact them on Monday and see that they say.

Thanks,
Eric
