Need help choosing a muzzle comp for <$100
PWS FSC556 Troy Claymore Troy Medieval Levang Linear Comp Looking for something to replace my standard A2 flashhider. Want something to manage recoil to help followup shots, and directing muzzle blast away from me. I have a DelTon 16" barrel, I assume the .5X28RH threading is standard for M4 style barrels? Thoughts and inputs, especially if you own one of these very much appreciated. |

All of the ones listed are great. Of the list pick out the one the looks the best. IMO.
Yankee Hill Machine has there Phantom 5c2 that are also nice and I have heard good things out of. They are cheap to boot. **Edit** Just looked at the Levang Linear Comp and I am not a fan of the styling.(i also know nothing about it) But if it functions then go for it. Looks can't kill. |
| The only brake I have installed is a JP Enterprises Bennie Cooley brake. I don't know how it compares to those you've listed, but it is quite effective. |

Thanks for the input guys. I actually just made a purchase on Ebay for a PWS FSC556 Quickcomp (G5) for $66 shipped. At the price, I couldn't resist. Will report back once I get it onto my rifle.
If it doesn't work as I like, I might just get that Ross Schuler... Looks almost like that JP break. |

I've done a review of the TROY CLAYMORE & LEVANG You will be happy with the FSC556 but THIS brake is a better comprimise between the three. |

Military SPRS use the ops inc brake and collar for the ops suppressor.
Out of the ones you listed, the FSC556 will be the only one that will actually help significantly with muzzle rise. The others are designed to direct gases forward. Any muzzle device that reduces muzzle rise or recoil will increase the blast you feel with the exception of suppressors. Some work better than others. The SJC titan is a monster. It's the best brake I've ever used, but it's also the loudest. |
