I recently picked up a stripped A1 upper, and I assembled it with parts I had already. However, I am having a very tough time finding the A1 rear sight assembly. None of my gunshops have any, Brownells do not carry it, and I am not sure about e-gunparts.com. They list an A1 rear sight assembly, but the diagram looks like an A2 sight assembly. Where oh where can I get this bloody sight assembly? I'm going to be in Las Vegas this week - any chance there is a place near there that would have it?

All 3 of these show stock!!! Finally...

However, none will ship to Canada...

I know these parts can be shipped - just we have such terribly stupid laws up here, I guess it is not worth it for these companies.

I'm shocked that you're even allowed an AR-15!

Just a short update - as noted above, another member is sending me the adj wheel (free of charge too!!). I have since been able to locate the sight, the screw and the flat spring...I am now only missing the little detent and spring. Things are looking up....

On a sidenote, you can own an AR in Canada, however, you need a special license (restricted firearms class). Furthermore, AR's can only be shot at an approved gun range, and you need a special permit to transport the gun to the range from your house (using the most direct route possible) - this is called an Authorization to Transport (ATT). Finally, AR mags have to be pinned to 5 rounds, unless they are marked as a pistol mag, in which case they can hold 10. On the upside, no issue with barrel lengths (my current AR has a 10.5" barrel), and no restrictions on AR/M16 parts, as long as the auto sear or DIAS is not used. M16 bolts, hammers, triggers, etc... are all good and legal.

+1! He's a good guy to deal with. He has tthe complete A1 rear sight assy, and he also had the correct "low light" rear sight aperture to match the "Prometheum" front sight I bought from colttrader on GB. Those are for my "later" M16A1 build.
