I'm looking for a drop-in extended handguard with the cut out for the front sight post. I really like the Troy drop in battlerail charlie but for the price I can buy a ff rail and gas block and have it installed. Are there any more "economic" options out there for what Im looking for? Also, if thats about the normal price for that style handguard can someone tell me why? I've always just assumed a FF rail would cost more than a drop-in but I don't know. I've just recently discovered the extended drop-ins with the cut out and I like this option for my current setup. Thanks

P.S. It might help to mention that this would be for a mid-length

It requires nearly as much time and material to make a drop in rail as it does a free float rail. The difference being many free float handguards come with a new barrel nut. That being said, I like MI products.
