I want to build an AR pistol with a 7.5" inch barrel, with a carbine length free float tube. My idea is to completely cover the barrel. Basically build something similar to an HK SP89, just becuase I can.
My question is how long is the standard carbine free float tube? I would assume it is the same as the handguards.
The next question is about the 7.5 barrel. How far is it from the front of the upper to the rear of the FSB?

.223 in 7.5" is a waste completely covering the barrel is a waste/stupid/unsafe and the answer is yes, I do have some airsoft guns Gus H.
