A Chinese A1 upper? Do you have some sources/info to back that up? First I have heard of Chinese A1 uppers hitting the market during the panic... Quoted:

Chinese. A bunch appeared on the market after the Panic started. I had one myself. A Chinese A1 upper? Do you have some sources/info to back that up? Norinco makes an M16 clone, and apparently some of the parts have been floating around. |

Actually about 200 were imported before the 1994 ban. Speculation? Yes, but informed speculation. A bunch of us looked at the photos we could find of the Norinco clone and the upper appeared to match. It's easier to catalog the negatives: - Not a Colt/Milspec: incorrect machining - Mine wasn't Singapore nor Philippines - it had no markings whatsoever. - Doesn't appear to be Olympic or some of the other aftermarket types: again, wrong machining. If it is dimensionally correct (mine was), just shoot it. China is run by greedy oligarchs who have no qualms about manufacturing crap consumer goods, but the quality of their firearms is an exception to that rule. |
