Building new carbine length AR for home defense and general purpose.

Want to mount either my Aimpoint PRO or my Mepro M21.

Mepro weighs two ounces more than the PRO all up.

Mepro is tritium with no batteries.

On the other hand, battery life of the PRO is very good.

Hive input???

Between the options you've listed I aim point, with the back up sights.

Both are good optics, the M21 is far more rugged if that's important to you.
The M21 can suffer from reticle washout under certain lighting conditions (like using a bright WML at very close range) but is very KISS w/no batteries, switches or adjustments to worry about.
I'd be happy w/either but if forced to choose I'd take the M21 (YMMV).

Someone on here has mentioned the integrated QD mount on their M21 came loose during a class. I'd prefer the Aimpoint

The pro is about as good as it gets for a fighting optic within a 300y engagement space.

Aimpoint Pro's can be purchased online for around $370.00 to $385.00 shipped to your door. They are excellent RDS and hard (impossible) to beat at that price point.

PRO hands down. The M21 is going to wash out if you are under shade (indoors) trying to aim into a bright area. I don't like the blue filter either, which is their attempt to remedy this deficiency with contrast.

Thanks for the info.  I mounted the Aimpoint and the Mepro 21 is for sale on EE.
