I admit it, I'm a newbie. I've just recently crossed over to the AR15 side from the AK47. I have a brand new Double Star stripped lower and the bug has bit me HARD to build it. I already own a Double Star 20" A2 basic rifle. This is what converted me. I LOVE that rifle. Now, I want something a little different. I'm torn between building either a 16" rifle with a bull barrel, full length ACE skeleton stock and free floating hand guard OR a 16" carbine with the short ACE skeleton stock, chrome lined GI barrel and M4 handguards. Any pros/cons with either setup? Is the bull barrel in 16" length worth the extra money? Is it that much more accurate? The gun will see about 50% off hand shooting and 50% bench shooting. I live in the mountains, so I won't be doing any varmint hunting. It's almost impossible to get over a 100 yard shot here. Any recommendations on what upper or kit to buy? Thanks in advance! Neil |
