i have a couple ar's but not one set up in M4 look. So should i go 14 inch with  permanent  attached flash hider or 16". Tell me your guys thoughts as i will keep the original front sight on it. thanks

If you want it to look authentic, you need a 14.5" barrel with an M203 notch. But then you're gonna need an extended birdcage flash hider to bring it out to the legal length, the standard A2 flash hider will be too short.

If you want it a close to an M4 as possible then go with 14.5

A would pin on a vortex or a phantom. I think both look and preform better than
a extended A2

And since you know you wont change out the front site the pin job wont be a problem later.

The 16in with standard A2 just still seems long if you are used to seeing a 14.5

Plus a bayonet does not work right with the 16in if that matters to you.

You could probably find a used one on the EE easily. I like the LMT upper.Or a Sabre.
