Hey guys, have been a lurker for awhile, and have finally decided to post,

I am looking to build an AR 15. however, I do not know what to get based upon what my wants/needs are: a light weight carbine, preferably M4 profile, with the interest of reliability over accuracy(a balance of both actually, what use is a reliable rifle if it cannot hit anything helpful;

DPMS A1 upper with M4 barrel and handguards. ($450)
Bushmaster or DSArms lower ($100)
Eagle Arms or RRA lower parts kit ($50-$60)
Buttstock of your choosing (Surplus A1's are $50)

Are you building the uppper and lower? The lower is pretty easy, there is a little more involved in getting the barrel into the upper (though it ain't rocket science).

If you're on a tight budget- Mega lower and J&T kit with chrome lined barrel.

I am aiming to build the lower, although if you could point out if there is really a cost advantage to building the upper, I would be interested(I usually only see a few dollars difference in most cases).
