Ok. One of my carbines HAS to go before I can buy  or build another rifle. No option, too many fun rifles.

1 : My ultralight custom. It started out as an ARForum limited edition RRA Entry Tac, added OD furniture, H2 buffer, quadrail handguards (not freefloat) 2-stage trigger. Fake flashhider pinned on barrel.

2: My mean custom. ARMS SIR 45m, full-length buffer railed gasblock, chrome BC and bolt, ARMS rear and front flip-up BUIS (Not in pic). Permamently affixed compensator, 'worked-over' stock trigger.

Hard Decisions..

id keep #1 but thats just me. And that is just based on looks which preforms best?

Keep 'em both and get a side job.

I'd keep #1 too...

I like the eotech, the kiss rail system and the standard FSB.

I would take all of the goodies that you liked from both, and set one up from both parts sets.  Then assemble all of the parts you don't like on the other one, and sell it.

Assuming they both run, I like everything about #1 better then #2 so #2 would be the one I would sell off.

I would keep #1

Keep the first one, junk the ARMS railed one.

ETA - take the BUIS from #2 and put it on #1.

Keep no.1

The RRA gives me 1" groups with the eotech off a table, the other one I have not shot for accuracy yet. It is pretty much brand new. (Just got the chrome bolt/bcg for it)

I am thinking of keeping #1 and taking the chrome bcg/bolt out of #2 and the adding a rear buis to it. I always liked #1, but it has more kick due to no compensator on the front vs #2.
Only issue with #1 is I don't like the cowitness of the eotech and the front sight. To put a railed gas block and flipup front sight I'd need to have the fake flashhider cut off then the barrel rethreded and a comp added.

On a positive note, I should be able to get some good $$$ for #2.

Thanks all.

Nah one HAS to go as I don't need two of the same type carbines to shoot. Have too many rifles as it is.

Then I would pull the rail and barrel on #2 and start my next build with what was left over.

No sense in selling the upper/lower if you're just gonna turn around and buy another one.

You want only one carbine? Unpossible!

Keep # 1. Arfcom Lower!

The only type of build I would be interested in right now is a 5.45x39, and nobody makes one, so I'm sol for now.

I agree with above statement...btw is that a UTG rail on the first one? What do you think of it?
12/27/2007 3:15:37 PM EDT
[#22]
Yup, it's a UTG non freefload quad rail. Fits and woks great. Not heavy either.

Since you don't have any magazines, get rid of both of them

I would keep number 2 and give number 1 to me as a a gesture of kindness to another gun owner who doesnt have enough AR's.

keep both of them, you will regret it if you get rid of one.  its like getting rid of part of the family

Ok, I think I am happy with the outcome of the one I'm keeping .
I'll get a buis for it sooner or later, and will change the front sight/gasblock to a railed one and get a flip-up front sight.

She weighs in at 8.3lbs with a 30round fully loaded magazine.
