Was going to purchase a Seekins NOXs Forged complete upper but just found out they are done with the forged line. Billet is just more than I think I need to spend. Therefore I am looking for an alternative. Here is what I'm looking for:
16" Barrel Length .223 Wylde Mid Length Gas Lightweight Handguard - Don't have any accessories so doesn't matter why style (M-Lok, Keymod, Quad). Standard charging handle is fine as I already have an extended one waiting. Price: Under $600-650 Looking for something fairly accurate. Also barrel with flash hider or threading for possible suppressor in the future. |

What are everyone's thoughts on uppers made or assembled by the following: DSG, Aero Precision, Radical Firearms Have not bought an upper from those three. A lot of people have made positive comments about all three. But, DSG sold me a lower parts kit less FCG that had a weird dark greenish gray glossy finish on it and I sent it back for credit, but they did have a deep discount on Magpul followers. Some of Aero's recent production upper recievers have been reported to have less than absolutely correct machining. Radical firearms has lovers and haters. Of the 3 I would take my chances with Aero. But, there are others you should consider, Andro Corp, Bravo Company, Rainier Arms, Rock River, Stag Arms, YHM, Spikes Tactical, and other smaller builders that escape my mind right now. (And, PSA's freedom or premium line uppers if you get lucky and find one you like that is actually in stock). Edited to add: Check out offerings from Live Free Armory, Right to bear arms armory, Recoil Gunworks, and check offerings by AIM Surplus too. |

I just put together an Aero Precision M4e upper/lower/15" mlok handguard 5.56 dmr type rifle (still unfired) and it went together very nicely, everything was nice and precise as far as machining goes.
I am in love with it, I pull it out of the safe and fondle it at least 3x a week. AP is money well spent, imo. Earlier this year I put together a RF 7.5" 5.56 pistol and I am quite fond of that one too. It's been 100% reliable (even on a bcg w/only 2 gas rings) and has eaten everything I've put thru it, about 300+ rounds so far. RF is also money well spent, like PSA, I feel they are a great option for budget building. I'm sure you will be happy with whatever you pick. |
