I purchased a 50rd box of Hornady 55gr FMJ only to read that it does not fragment due to the thickness of the bullet. I'm looking for ammo that is 50cents or less per round and also has a high potential to fragment and/or yaw. Also something that's 3moa at 200 yards. I have no idea if that's too much to ask for or not. Really I want something I can put down range without feeling guilty about the price, plus it'd have the most practical use in a SHTF situation.

Anything more than 50cents a round and I'd just buy the prvi 75g bthp. I can't reload since I rent an apartment and don't have a garage or storage space. My rifle is a LWRC M6A2.

That is very helpful, but there are so many I've been having a hard time finding the ballistics on some of the rounds I've looked at. Is it easier to look for certain rounds that meet my criteria, or should I note which rounds not to get and then pick something else. I'm reading that the ammo I bought is very accurate, but virtually no fragmentation.

Just buy the prvi 75g bthp. 50 cents is not much higher than bulk FMJ prices. I can't think of any defense rounds for 50 cents ea. At one time the Hornady 55gr steel match (a BTHP) was <$20 per box of 50, but i doubt it is that cheap today. Besides, good luck finding it.

Other optoins for your 50 cents and frag / yaw: bulk M855 or Wolf 62gr HP.
