So I've been neglecting a 14.5" mid-length AR w/ a match trigger and a very accurate barrel. I would love to have another ACOG, but not spending much for an optic on this rifle. Would like to keep it under $300. It's just a range toy and maybe a hog hunter.

I've had a Weaver Kaspa series and it was really a nice scope for the money. Was thinking about a FDE 1.5-6x32 Weaver. This rifle is FDE, so this scope would match nicely.

I really want something a little larger than a 1-4x24. Just too small IMO. Any other options I should consider?

Thanks.

I have the 1-6 on my SPR. I got it for like $150 with a PEPR QD mount so I couldn't pass on it. I like the illumination but haven't used the ballistic drop reticle. I have to take the chronograph out and try it out with my reloads to see how it matches up. It was the first illuminated scope I bought and I like it for shooting at dusk, in low light. The glass on the Kaspa is okay. A little finicky on eye relief. Quality wise in this price range I would probably give the edge to the Primary Arms but I like the Kaspa BDC reticle and illumination more. Warranty edge goes to Weaver, so it's kind of a toss-up.

If you can scrape up another $bill, you won't regret...

The new Weaver just arrived. I'm keeping the 1-6 on my SPR. The 2-10x will be going on my Varmint 20" for longer range...but it is pretty much the same size as the Kaspa. The glass is excellent, mil dots weren't quite as clear under illumination when I was looking at it last night but I have to mount it and mess with it some more.
