I have decided I want to build an AR15 and want to go with a M4 style.
I'll be purchasing a stripped Spikes Tactical lower, but I need some advise on what parts to get. I'll need to know were to get some decent but inexpensive lower assembly parts, nothing fancy just needs to get the job done. For the furniture I'm going with the Magpul MEO set. Heres were I'm stuck, I don't know what would be cheaper a Complete Stag Upper. $480 Or to build a same or better quality upper. Shoot me some links for the parts please. Fullauto18 |

BTW... $480 for a complete Stag lower is way high unless it has an uber-cool stock on it or target trigger group... Links, Suggestions. Feedback please, Thanks fullauto18 Spike's Lower You would need to add the stock of your choice, as it only has the buffer tube installed for $249, but it's all top tier stuff. how about this one, as long as you can wait a couple weeks: DS Arms bargain Note this has the mil-spec buffer tube, which is the one you should want... |

I do not mean to denigrate Stag. They are a premium brand. But if you are spending over $100 to maybe $120 on a stripped Stag lower, you're being hosed. Figure $80 for a GOOD LPK (I recommend the DD kit mentioned earlier) and another $120 for a good stock kit and you are still kicking the shit out of $480 all day long... On the cheap side, $70 for a Tapco 6position stock, $60 for DPMS LPK, and $70 or so for a decent forged lower... The DS Arms lower sounds to be primo quality stuff though. It would be my choice if I was on a strict budget. |
