Alright so I have a few questions for you amazing people. I'll try not to overload you.
As most of you know, EOTech is going through some crap and I've decided to take advantage of their return option. I am returning an EXPS2 that is lower 1/3 cowitness. This creates a problem for me because I have an EOTech G33 3x magnifier on a stock EOTech flip to side mount that is lower 1/3 and cannot be returned. I also have another rifle with a Primary Arms micro red dot on a PA absolute mount, so the magnifier will not line up there. I need some help deciding what my best option will be at this point. I am really leaning towards an Aimpoint Pro with the G33 magnifier behind it on my Colt. I don't concern myself very much with BUIS on this rifle because it's not really my SHTF rifle (that's my Adams Arms with the PA red dot and Troy BUIS). Is there a recommended mount for this optic that will give me lower 1/3 (and also line up with the magnifier because we all know different companies view cowitness heights differently)? Or do you all recommend a different sight? My end goal is to put a Leupold firedot scope on the Colt (it's a pretty heavy rifle already honestly and at that point I'll add BUIS) and put the PA red dot on an offset mount. Then the Adams Arms will get the new red dot and the magnifier. That's a ways off though so my current setup is more of the focus here. If you have any questions please just ask. I'm not a frequent poster on any forums so bare with me. If I could ever figure out how to post pictures here I'll do that too. |
| I just put a Leupold Mark AR 1.5-4 with the Green Firedot SPR reticle in an ADM Recon mount on my AAC and I love it. Awesome scope for the coin. Plus with the reticle auto on and off to features the battery should last forever. Very light also. I looked at the VX-R Patrol with the red firedot but I wanted the green. |

With your piece of advice I was able to get the magnifier mounted behind the PA red dot. Sight picture is amazing and it lines up great.
With that being said, I think I will skip the Aimpoint now and go straight for the Leupold. I don't see a point in getting the Aimpoint when the PA red dot is so close in quality and so far in price. I baby my ARs for the most part and the PA has so many torture tests behind it that I'm confident enough with its quality. I'm currently looking at the 3-9 Mark AR Firedot and the prices are enticing. Have any of you returned your EOTech and actually received a refund? I'd just like to know if I should move some money around and buy the Leupold or wait for the check from the EOTech. |

That's almost exactly what I'm looking for but in the 3-9 configuration. A friend of mine has one and I've shot using it and was very impressed, especially with the Firedot. Not wanting to thread jack, you will find other threadschere with photos and info on the 3-9 FireDot Patrol, including my own. |
