OK, so before I boogered this up I thought I would ask the hive mind what to do. I have a YHM free float rail that I put the YHM endcap in with the supplied locktite (don't remember what color it was...blue maybe?) and now my plans have changed a little bit and I want to take it off. What is the best method to get this sucker off preferably without tearing up the rail or the end cap? Should I heat this bitch up a bit with a torch before even trying? Help me before I destroy something!

Hot air dryer first, it's worked for me in the past. Why would you bother with loctite on the endcap? Even if it gets loose, nothing will go wrong with the rifle. Even if it falls off, nothing will go wrong with the rifle.

Plus the gas tube will prevent it from moving too far anyway.

Assuming that the gas block is located outside the rail, yes.

I did not think of that. I guess I'm a little old school & think of every rifle having a full FSB.

Me too but I've seen some YHMs set up other way around.

Either way, as you also pointed out, it's not a big deal.

I just finished a pistol build with a YHM carbine length FF on a 7 1/2" barrel. The end cap is past the gas block.
I haven't used the blue lockttite yet.

Wrap the end of the hg with fiberglass insulation and tape it on. Then bumpfire the hell out of it! That will warm it up for you.

You can use the YHM wrench or a similar barrel nut wrench in the holes of the end  cap to take it off just like you would use it on their barrel nut.  You should have enough grip to remove it without messing anything up especially if you heat it.  Of course if it's behind the FSB or gas block you have to remove the GB and the tube first.

If your are taking the rail off, just loosen the anti rotation screws and jam nut then unscrew the entire tube with the cap still on it.  The hole in the cap is big enough to go over the FH as long as the GB isn't in the way.

If you used the locktite that came with the YHM end cap, the locktite is purple and its about the most mild locktite you can get. You should be able to just wrench it off. Use a hair dryer or heat gun if it is being stubborn. I just put a YHM Light weight Specter w/ the end cap on my new build.

Oddly, my YHM wrench doesn't fit my YHM end-cap.

You are right - it doesn't fit perfectly.  The open end barrel nut wrench works with the rail on the barrel using two of the three prongs and slightly angled.  The YHM wrench works best with the rail off of the barrel, again using two of the three prongs.  This way is better than trying to do it with the rail still on the barrel.

I took my YHM's off, so the only pictures I can take are without the barrel in the way, but it'll give an idea of how to use it.

i used the purple locktite that came with my endcap, let it cure 24 hours and it's looser than a $3 whore.  i can't tighten it all the way snug or the holes won't align to allow the gas tube to pass through.  i added a little red locktite but so long as the gas tube runs through it, i can't really go anywhere.

I seem to recall that purple stuff they sent didn't work well and that is why I ended up using the wrench.  Both of mine were in front of the GB though so it didn't really matter where the holes lined up.

I guess I should have mentioned that this is on my dedicated 22 upper with an M4 profile barrel and a specter length rail so no gas block and if there was one it would be past it anyway. I haven't tried it yet but I guess I will just try and wrench it off first and if that doesn't work I'll heat it up.

Thanks
