[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Help removing front sight

This DPMS upper had 5 set screws holding the sight in place. Two on the left side, two on the right side and one under the strap loop. After removing all five set screw and looking for some sign of pins I am embarrisingly out of ideas to remove the sight. I have tried heat thinking it is an shrink fit, still it will not move. I am a machinist with tools and experience...just don't want to do any damage getting it off. Any ideas?

is it new, has it been shot much you may have some carbon buildup. put some penetrating oil around it and let it soak awhile.

Thanks Tump. Added some more heat and went semi mid-evil on it with the rawhide. Slow and steady it came off.
