I currently have a light (streamlight tlr-1) mounted to my bayonet lug and this works well. I have standard handguards with a remote switch (one with plastic base) secured with zip ties on the handguard at about the 2 o'clock position. I can work the light fairly well with this setup but the remote switch and zip ties can be an issue at times. The switch seems a bit tall so I picked up a tape switch that will lay more flush on the handguard and will be easier for me to get my fingers onto. The second issue is I don't like the zip ties and would like something different. I thought about putting a piece of intertube around the tape switch but getting the tube on the handguards is a no-go with the FSB. No way to get over it. I don't want to, or feel comftorable removing the barrel.
So, I thought about getting a rail (probably a Troy 2 piece) but was not sure if this would actually solve my problem. Is there some sort of mount or other gadget which I could somehow mount the tape switch to? I know getting a vertical foregrip would solve all my problems but don't really want one. I don't want the added weight (which isn't much I know) and I don't like shooting with one. So, I'm looking forward to some idea and pictures on how I could better mount the remote switch. Thanks. |

I would get a Surefire with a Malkoff and use this tape switch for a rail. SR07
I use them and they work very well. " />
