I just received a C-7 upper with the only marking being a splintered A. Everything fit fine but the charging handle would not slide foreward in the grooves. What I discovered was the track was too narrow requiring me to file down the little humps just above the side tabs that slide in the tracks. Was this normal for a C-7 or was the guideway machined too narrow? If it is incorrect is there someone who will widen the guideway for the handle? It works fine since I filed the bosses down but it still kinda bugs me. The charge handle is a Colt as was a second one I tried with the same result. |

Question comes down to if the upper receiver was produced by Diemaco, Colt (bought out Diemaco), or just a off shop abortion. You always have the option of taking the upper back for a refund, and/or it just boils down to if you can live with having to tweak a charging handle to work with the upper. |
Word around here is that some DPMS uppers require a charging handle from DPMS. I’ve heard that the receivers are milled a bit thinner in the CH’s channel. |
