I bought this block: http://www.hahn-precision.com/armory/products/sten.htm to use with an AR I built with an Oly 9mm upper. The instructions on Hahn's page indicate that you may have to hammer in the bumps on the sides of the sten mags if they don't fit your mag well. I had to do this. There is nothing to stop the mag from sliding up too far after removing the bumps. If I pick up the rifle and let the mag hang it is in the correct position, however, with the bolt open I can push the mag up so far that it blocks the bolt. This is really unacceptable. Has anyone else had this issue? If so, did you resolve it? |

I found it easier to dimple my receiver with a little light dremel tool work or a small file. Not really hard at all and they are small so they are not noticeable. If you want you can gunkote the recevier afterwards and they totally disapear. I run their systems on several different receivers. My first one I didn't even modify and just let the mags wear on the receiver untill they fit. After that one I figured I might as well speed up the process a little and help the mag "Seat" better. No problems yet |
