The front sight is a block and the piston rod is welded to it.
I know its a piston upper, and it has POF rails on it.
Also instead of a regular charging handle it has a side cocker on the right side.
There is no dust cover but the side cocker that goes down the upper reciever almost to the end of the reciever.

What is it?

The piston or operating rod has to move backwards a few inches to move the bolt/carrier on ANY type of gun.  How would this piston move if it's welded to the gas block?  Have you ever shot this thing?

I couldn't see the piston assembly under the hand guard but I could see like a pipe welded to the front sight block.
