I have a LMT Defender with LMT's BUIS rear sight. I want to keep this set-up for day time use - KISS. But... I also want to mount a NV scope for checking out the things that go bump in the night on the ranch or anything that moves at night to be more to the point. I know I will need some type of mount (easy on - easy off) as this rifle will not be a night time use only. So what should I be looking for here? I am thinking some type of cantalever mount? I need to clear approx 1.5 to 2.0 inches. I am not a huge fan of the extended cantalever style, but unsure of other options.
There is a decent size gun show in Dallas next week and I was hoping some of you experts can help me with a way to mount this Youkon NV scope onto a flat rail LMT Defender and keep the BUIS in tact. Give me something to look for or where I may need to order a mounting system for this. Picatanny rail of course. Look forward to hearing your thoughts and suggestions please. Jon B |
| This Yukon has a rail system installed and apart of the base unit itself - meant to be installed on flat rail. With a low profile BUIS it would be fine but I wanted to keep the LMT BUIS. So this will not be a ring type of set-up. I am thinking a rail to rail type, unless there are other options. Regardless I hear you saying LaRue is the way to look and I will start here atleast. Thank you! |
