[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Help with flash hider

My next project is converting my pre-ban upper to post-ban. Is there a trick to taking off the factory A2 flash hider? I know how to install the new fake (pin, weld, ect). The factory installed is a bitch. I'm afraid of something breaking or warping with the torque I applying. I do not have any special tools or no-mar jaws. I do have a vise and a torch.

You'll need a set of jaws for holding the barrel in the vise........then, just have at it.

If it's on a 14.5 inch barrel, however, the flash supressor could be permanently fixed in place to bring it out to the 16" minimum, in which case, I'd send it to KKF.

It's a 20". I've already thought to myself if I have any more problems, it's going to KKF.

Or put it on the exchang board as a want to trade!
Tell them what it is and what you want.
