I have a Hesse lower  Yes, I know, but it was the only one available at a reasonable price before the CA ban, and it is Mil-Spec right?  Plus the lower really doesn't matter so much for accuracy or reliability(right?) so I'm stuck with it.
Anyhow, I've acquired a JARD 3.5lb adjustable trigger and the local smith said he can't install it.  Apparently, this trigger needs a hole where the pistol grip attaches to the lower and he can't drill it.  Any suggestions, ideas, or recommendations as to who can do this will be greatly appreciated.
I bought the trigger from ARFCOM member and I currently have a Bushmaster trigger installed in the lower that needs to be removed.
Thanks in advance for any input.

I read the instructions on JARD's site and as far as I can tell the only "hole where the pistol grip attaches" is just that--the hole the pistol grip is attached to--so I don't see why he'd have to drill one if the lower came with a pistol grip.  (If it didn't, I'd be contacting Hesse/Vulcan...)

However, it does say that their socket set screw has to be screwed in a certain amount, and that it may have to be tapped further to allow that.  So maybe he means that it has to be tapped further, but I would think he could handle that.  (Assuming it's a forged lower.  If it's carbon fiber I could see why he might not want to touch it.)

Not carbon fiber.  The gunsmith... actually his wife said that there needed to be a hole or an additional hole in order to mount the JARD trigger.  I do have a standard Bushmaster grip currently attached to the lower.  I'm not too familiar with ARs yet, so somewhat apprehensive of doing this myself.

You might want to download the instructions, study them, and then have him show you why he thinks there needs to be another hole.

Or you might want to drop over to the Hometown forum and see if you can find someone in your area to help you install it or recommend a different 'smith.
