Anybody have any direct experience with High Performance Bolts? I've read that they are more efficient with respect to busting a cap on Military Surplus Ammo, some of them even having a firing pin that is slightly longer, maybe .010" or so I believe.

You read the hype on the manufacturer's websites about them, and you wonder if they're an upgrade that really enhances performance and quality sufficiently to warrant the cost.

I like reading comments from guys that have actually used them, whether they're worth the upgrade, and if they really obtained the extra performance/quality that they anticipated from them.  Would you recommend them, and why?

Anybody know if a high performance bolt will work specifically on the Adams Arms 5.45 x 39mm Piston Upper, and the LWRC 5.45 x 39mm piston upper?

Why not just run the LWRC advanced combat bolt in the LWRC??

Where did you read nonsense like this?.    Sorry, but all I shoot is military or military surplus ammunition and it all shoots fine in every rifle I've tried without a High Performance Bolt.  Beware of firing pins longer than spec.

I run the LWRC ACB because that is what came in my A3. After running it for a while I also upgraded my BM with the ACB and haven't looked back. Before the upgrade I would get FTEs with Wolf ammo through the BM every time I went to the range. Those are things of the past. Personally though, I wouldn't buy the bolt expecting higher performance, I would buy the bolt just for the added insurance they provide. Depends on what you plan on doing with your rifle.

Most know that the 7.62x39 primers are recessed in the case head instead of flush like 5.56 ammo so yes that is why longer firing pins or shorter bolts are suggested when using Russian surplus.

7.62mm Soviet (7.62x39) AR15s are pretty rare...  And little if none of this ammunition is surplus, it's all new production for sales in the USA.

Your SKS or AK-type rifle will have a firing pin spec as well.  Best to stick with it.  Nothing wrong with a max-spec pin.
