| Looking for some opinions on best high end AR's in .308. POF P308, Larue OBR or LWRC R.E.P.R??? Thanks. |

A lot of people are going to tell you "piston sucks" when the vast majority are basing their claims off of "my friends, friend said that his friends <insert piston rifle here> had a catastrophic failure!!!". Nothing wrong with Piston, as long as its done right. I've had no issues with either of my two LWRCs.
The REPR is an awesome rifle, albeit expensive as hell. Extremely accurate, runs extremely clean as well. LaRue makes an extremely solid rifle, and after borrowing my buddies while he deployed for a year, I didn't wanna give it back. Honestly, you'd be served extremely well by either a REPR or an OBR. Just a matter of what operating system you want- piston, or direct-impingment? Do you plan on running a suppressor? A piston AR with a suppressor is a LOT easier to clean than its D.I. counterpart. I know from experience. |

A review of the REPR. Give me a Larue or Noveske. ETA: Boiler Up! |

If you truly want the High end then go with a KAC SR-25, I will never Bash an OBR,REPR,N6,LMT MWS, SCAR-H or nice AR-10 but the SR-25 is truly the best gun out there IMO, you are paying for the engineering that went into the gun, its lighter weight than all of those guns come with the ability to mount a suppressor from the factory (only a KAC can) but you get the idea. has a proven track record over the last 20 years in military service. I love my rifle very much and am glad I saved up the cash and bought it. I routinely out shoot better shooters than I think I am, due in large part to this gun. http://i716.photobucket.com/albums/ww166/atacorion/DSC_0049-vi.jpg http://i716.photobucket.com/albums/ww166/atacorion/DSC_0016-vi.jpg http://i716.photobucket.com/albums/ww166/atacorion/DSC_0005-vi.jpg http://i716.photobucket.com/albums/ww166/atacorion/untitled2.jpg BTW this is the AR-15 forum you may want to put this in the 308 forum How you liking that can? Still waiting on the paperwork for mine ugh. |

For the money you can do better than a piston gun, especially with a 308 where you wont be dumping rounds or using a SBR, precision baby I think you get more money/gun if you buy a nice barrel (or upper) and trigger and build it yourself versus just a "big name" rifle YMMV |

No love for the LMT MWS? Apparently it's Jason Statham's preferred weapon of choice..... <a href="http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/535/lmt308mws17.jpg/" target="_blank">http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/3430/lmt308mws17.jpg</a> Too bad that he's breaking one of the firearm safety rules.... |

Having said that, I also own a KAC SR25 EMC along with an 18" Noveske N6. Both serve different purposes but, can be utilized in the same manner if need be. I bought the KAC as a primary all around run and gun battle rifle. I can use it in the same fashion as your typical 5.56 Carbine along with the capabilities to make hits out to 800 yards if need be. I'm sure it can reach out further but, I just listed the general range the .308 is most effective at. I have the Noveske primarily precision shooting and as others have stated, Noveske's track record speaks for itself when it comes to their barrel and quality. What I don't care for is the fact that they are based off of the Armailte AR10 Platform and I can't use the same mags as my SR25 but, that's pretty much it. I think you have to define what your primary goals and go from there. Obviously, there are plenty of great options out there and you can really go wrong with everything that has been suggested so far..Next on my list is definitely a Larue but, I still hvaen't decided whether or not it's going to be the OBR or PredetAR..From all the information I've gathered, the Larue OBR seems to be one of the better choices out there if you're looking for a dead nuts tack driving semi auto gas gun... |

No love for the LMT MWS? Yet another bad ass platfrom. The MWS is widely used in the British army now. Pretty cool they are using a U.S. made weapon by LMT. LMT must be pretty busy. <a href="http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/37/lmt308mws11.jpg/" target="_blank">http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/8558/lmt308mws11.jpg</a> <a href="http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/839/lmt308mws.jpg/" target="_blank">http://img839.imageshack.us/img839/9002/lmt308mws.jpg</a> <a href="http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/15/lmt308mws10.jpg/" target="_blank">http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/892/lmt308mws10.jpg</a> <a href="http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/38/lmt308mws12.jpg/" target="_blank">http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/8476/lmt308mws12.jpg</a> <a href="http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/98/lmt308mws18.jpg/" target="_blank">http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/2892/lmt308mws18.jpg</a> <a href="http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/36/lmt308mws13.jpg/" target="_blank">http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/2660/lmt308mws13.jpg</a> <a href="http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/821/lmt308mws16.jpg/" target="_blank">http://img821.imageshack.us/img821/7731/lmt308mws16.jpg</a> <a href="http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/685/lmtl129a12.jpg/" target="_blank">http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/2744/lmtl129a12.jpg</a> <a href="http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/69/lmt308mws20.jpg/" target="_blank">http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/1828/lmt308mws20.jpg</a> <a href="http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/580/lmt308mws7.jpg/" target="_blank">http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/9549/lmt308mws7.jpg</a> <a href="http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/695/lmt308mws14.jpg/" target="_blank">http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/2628/lmt308mws14.jpg</a> <a href="http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/577/lmt308mws2.jpg/" target="_blank">http://img577.imageshack.us/img577/3080/lmt308mws2.jpg</a> I feel sorry for those Royal Marines who have to go back and live in such a panzy ass country with only a broom stick to defend themselves. |

I just got my paperwork back. |
