I'd like to get this Holosight for an AR I'll be building.  It will have a flat-top upper and a standard A2 front sight.

What riser options do I have to put this Holosight just a tad OVER the front sight?

Thanks,

I use the Yankeee Hill Riser. Puts the irons in the lower third of the Holosight. The other more expensive option is the LaRue mount. If you like having a quick release on and off the LaRue is for you but it cost 3X the YHM.

It doesn't seem like there are that many options, maybe most find the riser isn't necessary.

I still can't believe the prices for mounts.

The YHM is less than $40 so it's not expensive. The Eotech will co-witness the iron sights with the dot at the top of the front sight post. Some like it some don't. I prefer the iron sights in the lower third so the view is less cluttered so I use the YHM riser.

The new 553 sits higher at the request of SOCOM so there are many folks who feel the scope is too low. The $125.00 LaRue mount is always sold out so it's very popular.

YMMV, but I used the EO I had once (quite a few months) directly from the flat-top, (no additional mount necessary).

The FSB is not an issue when mounted this way as ya don't notice it and IMO with the BUIS option at the co-witness height (dot on front sight post) for me, it made for the quicker on target option with the EO turned off as if battery had died.

When in lower third I have trouble gettin things lined up, it's not that I can't; it just takes more focus = time...., ain't quite enough of it stickin up for my old eyes.
