This is terrible, I'm going to be spending so much money soon, I can already tell.  I went to the range today and rented the 9mm AR-15 they had and wow, that was a good time.  Best $50 I've spent in a while.  I was planning to buy an AR-180B at the gun show coming up in July, now I'm not so sure, if I can find a reasonably priced AR-15 I might just hop on that instead.  I think I'm just gonna keep saving the $$'s for now and see what happens when I get to the show.

All together now,

1,

2,

3!

Buy both.

...or maybe buy a lower and build it yourself.

May 19th of this year I purchased my first AR-15.  Actually, it was a pair of complete RRA lowers and a complete RRA upper with Bushmaster lightweight barrel and ARMS #40L.  I have since purchased 15 30-round magazines, spent approximately $1270 on an AR-10T upper mated to an Eagle Arms complete lower, and I now have two of Denny's stripped Lauer/LMT lowers in shipment to my dealer.  I have slated approximately $3,000 to finish off the AR-10 between now and September.  As soon as I bring the AR-10 up to what I desire in a Mk11 platform, I intend to buy a 24" RRA varmint upper and RRA Holliger tuned two-stage trigger, plus a $500-$700ish scope for said upper.  Then I need a WOA DCM upper to swap around with the varmint upper.  And then I must get to work on the Lauer lowers (I'm thinking MRP for one of them, but we'll have to wait and see).  Somewhere in between all of that I must pick up a stripped Ameetec lower and register it as an SBR just for fun.  Note, none of this makes mention of ammunition...

P.S- Welcome to the club.  BRD is like alcoholism for some folks:  it's a disease, but it's a damn good disease.

I've never shot any AR, or any rifle over .22, and I'm hooked!

Build it yourself. Mix and match. Trust me, because I'm all knowing..
j/k

Actually its cheaper to just build and customize than to buy off the shelf. There is no cure for this disease, but if you build it yourself the drug is cheaper.

Right this moment, I'm thinking I'll stick with buying the AR-180B at the gun show, just because that's what I was planning to do, and I can't build it.  Then I'll start saving money and buying parts to build an AR-15.  I think I'd certainly rather build it just so I can get more knowledge of all the internal operations of the rifle.  Heck, the first thing I do with any gun I buy is figure out how to take it apart.  I don't bother with manuals or anything like that usually, because I'm more likely to remember how to put it back together that way.

Most folks that write post like this can be clinically diagnosed with an obsessive compulsive disorder. Just as long as you know.

And we have an admitted OCD case.

The good thing about buying a Ar180B is that when you go to trade it in for an AR15 the mags you bought for the 180B will work

Hey, as long as it's about guns and not washing my hands 50 times a day, I don't really care.  I'm just passionate, not obsessive.
