Seems I cannot open a gun mag today and not see an ad for the Horus scopes.  does anyone have an info on them? How long on the market and also relaibility?

They've been around since 1997.

FWIW, you can supposedly get Horus reticles in certain Schmidt Bender, US Optics, and Leupold scopes.

They are made to Horus Vision specs by Hakko in Japan.
The reticles are proprietary to Horus Vision, and are their own designs.

They have the availability of software that can go in a computer or palm PDA which can calculate the ballistic data for your round, add in the ambient conditions, and tell you how to aim your shot using the Horus Vision reticle.

It's a pretty cool idea, but the reticle is pretty cluttered with all kinds of hash marks and lines.

If you want to do all your range estimating and bullet drop compensation and wind compensation without making any turret adjustments, you can do it with these scopes. Everything you need is in the reticle.

You can also have these reticles custom installed into S&B, USO, and maybe some other scopes if you order them from Horus Vision.
