Gents, I have several prebans. 1 Eagle Arms, Bushmaster M4gery and a Oly Arms M4gery. I was looking at getting a Colt Blue Label preban for around 1200 or so. Should I wait for the sunset? Hell I don't even know if it will. I do have the money but I would like to get a new rifle postban preban, instead of buying a rifle over 10 years old. What do you all think? ![]() ![]() Max |

Hell no. It's one thing that you are a 1st time buyer, eager to slide a telescoping buttstock back & forth. You have a bunch. This is a total waste IMO. I suggest one of 2 things, here: SELL or SWAP the preban Oly for the Colt <-- That's an upgrade or Forget the whole damn thing & buy a new Colt. |
| I have two Colt prebans, a car and an Hbar, and i love them, however...I don't like to use them too much, because of their value...so I constantly carry my post ban Bushy M-forgery...I live in a wild rural area of National Forest so I have the oppurtunity to plink and hunt varmints anytime I please. So for all practical purposes, the Bushy gets the nod, a fine accurate, high quality piece every bit as good as my Colts, in every way. But I still like that horsey on the reciever! |

Quoted: Sell all the pre-bans, use the money down on a Reg Lightning Link, (~$5000) and then buy/build whatever you want. Never again have a pre-post ban worry, and they will always appreciate in value. Anyway, that's what I did, no more pre-bans for me. My .02 Let me get this straight. If I purchase Reg. auto sear that can go in different AR's all of those AR's can now be configured as pre-bans? What happens when you remove the Lightning link and use them in semi only mode, are they still considered legal? Does the reg. auto sear make all the guns it can fit legal class III firearms that can be configured any manner? If so this is the best idea yet![:D] |

Guys, guys, guys! The AW Ban hasn't been extended. I feel that any pre-bans are too many. I sold all of mine off and bought an M16. [:D] As for the laws regarding the RDIAS and RLL, as long as the conversion part is installed in the rifle, pre-post means nothing, and you can have any length barrel you want. Once you remove the RDIAS or RLL, your lower reverts back to its original status. |

If you want a pre ban buy something what will not be legal again...like a Steyr Aug or a IMI Galil. If you buy that Colt for 1200 dollars it is most likely going to be worth 700-900 this fall. Ask yourself this...why is someone selling it? I sold mine two years ago...for a hell of a lot more than 1200...it is a gamble, and guess what? We won today. It's time to celebrate and reap the rewards in September. Kevin |

Quoted: PRE-BANS,???? NONE, WHY??? AFTER SEPT. THERE WILL BE NO SUCH THING AS A PRE-BAN. I think you mean only AR's My Yugo RPK will countinue to climb in value. Why you ask? Because your statement is incorrect, thanks to the import ban, there will still be plenty of pre-bans going for to much money, with plenty of people still seeking them out. Until we take back Amerika, you can celebrate temoprarily, but I guarantee you in 5 years, IF THE BAN SUNSETS IN SEPTEMBER, people will be buying a whole new set of pre-bans. |
