I have one of these, no derogatory comments please.  ;-0

So, how do I get rails on this so I can mount a bipod?  I assume swap out the hard guards?  Suggestions on some?  Maybe some with rails built in?

Find rails/hand guards you like, buy them and follow the instructions

To many brands to list unless you specify what you want aside from just attaching a bipod and your budget

What kind of rails do you want? Length and style?

That's what I thought.  Likely I will go with Magpul MOE, seem sturdy and priced right.

Since I will have carbine length handguard, I assume the length of that, Picatinny, maybe just the bottom for now but I guess I can buy more for future use?

The upper you posted is mid length, not carbine length.

The easiest installation you'll find is with the Centurion Arms C4 rail, which is an excellent rail in its own right. You only need a dremel and an allen wrench to install it and I believe the allen wrench is included.

Sorry, posted wrong upper.  It is definitely carbine length.  I like the last post with the rails integrated, however that is out of my price range.  Like to keep it under $50, I see the Magpul is $30 but you have to add rails.

you can mount hardware to the stock handguards

You can?  How does that work?

So I am assuming you remove the hanguards, predrill holes, attach and then put handguards back on?  Is there some sory of templat to assist in placement or do I eyeball 6 o'clock and have at it?  ;-)

Does this help?  You'll simply buy the Magpul MOE Handgaurds and rails separate.  Use the included allen wrench to install rails to the handguard.

That I can handle!  ;-)

I just realized that the bipod I am looking at has the swivel stud included. Can I drill that through my existing stock handuards and save all this cost? I still want Magpul for another rifle, but for this I am trying to keep it stock and inexpensive.

If you're just looking to mount a bipod, this adapter might be cheaper and easier than trying to add a full set of rails.
