dude you  need to give a whole lot more info than that for someone to answer that question, and it still will be hard.  Ammo quality, load, scope brand of barrel. your skill level...etc,etc,
But it sounds like it has the potential to  be a good setup.

That is a pretty fast twist rate for a .308!  Why the extra 2" 24" is plenty of barrel in .308.
What did you do to the action?
Are you single feeding bullets or are you feeding from a mag?
All of these things make a difference.
The other thing and mentioned in the post above me is.  How good are you?  Just because the gun is capable of 1/2MOA doesn't meant that it will magically make you a better shooter.  In most instances most off the shelf guns can out shoot the shooter, they get mad blame and it on tht "cheap gun" when really it is them and not the gun!

Now assuming you can shoot and shoot proficiently 1/2 MOA is still an arguous task to repeat over and over unless you shoot that rifle a good bit and get use to it.

My initial thought was that you should expect 1MOA out of that gun if noting is done to the rifle with the rite ammo.

I would say above average.  I have a broken hand in a cast (might be an advantage, lol) and was shooting sub MOA with my brothers new Varminter 5.56 setup last week.  Of course he has top-notch equipment and a high-end Leupold scope

Aside from the limitations of the shooters ability, the true accuracy of the gun, I believe, is in your barrel and ammo. Optics, mounts, triggers, FF handguards etc, etc, will only help you better achieve the potential accuracy of the barrel and ammo.

Some people will say you may not notice a difference in a very high end accuraized barrel over a standard match barrel. There are too many limitations between people individual abilities and rifles for me to really say if this is the case. I believe the better barrels will shoot better if all else is equal.

It sounds  like you are referring to an AR10T. If this is indeed the model you are looking at, I can say that it is very accurate. More accurate than you can probably shoot. The barrel is the weakest part besides shooter. The Armalite barrels aren't bad but, there are better out there. I wouldn't bother changing it out, though. Shoot it and enjoy it. When the accuracte life is gone, rebuild with a more exspensive barrel.

I can shoot 3/4" groups all day with mine @ 100M and it's not really anywhere close to settling into the most accurate part of its life. As soon as I get back to AZ (2 more weeks) I will get a chance to try it at extended ranges. Damn WA trees block my LOS.

ETA: Newar-guy is right on ammo as well. Shoot match through it. If less than 500M, I would shoot 168s and be happy. Either BH or FGMM. If more than 500M, 175s- same brands. Even better- roll your own.

Irons or Optics?

If irons for a high power rig I guess you can go with that length barrel. If you're going to use an optic lose 6" of that pipe.

What trigger?  Free floated? what ammo? Hand loads or off the shelf match ammo?
