| I had a friend ask me about CMMG last week and I really did'nt have an answer for him. Can anyone school me? How does CMMG rate against some of the other major players? Thanks for any input. -jd |
| At one point 4 or so years ago they were the flavor of the month. This was when mid lengths were first catching on and I got one from them, have loved it. I think they suffered some growing pains and had some issues but for all I know they are back on track. I have friends that have bought some of their 22 stuff and been very happy with it. |

I have a CMMG 9mm upper with a 10.5" barrel that I bought used on the EE back in '07. It is super accurate and so far it's reliable with the same Gold Dot ammo I use in my Sig. For plinking I shoot a lot of Blazer aluminum cased ammo and it's not 100% reliable with that ammo, but I think it's mainly an issue with the ejector. May be an apples to oranges comparison, but it's the only thing CMMG that I have experience with.
It's like someone mentioned in an earlier post, they were the flavor of the day a few years ago. I came so very close to buying a CMMG 6.8 upper back in late 2006 but I never did. |

I have one of their complete lowers. It's high shelf and has a very nice finish. Has been 100% for me. At one time I had an 18 inch middy upper on order from them to match the lower, but this was when they were one hot ticket and CMMG seemed to have outgrown their capacity. I waited a few months then cancelled the order. I would by from them again now, but they have really paired down their offereings from what they once were. |
| I have a complete CMMG A2 rifle and I love it. I started with the lower then the upper said what the hell and built the entire thing from CMMG parts as money and time allowed. Took about a year to do and I have no complaints. It was a fun little project. It shoots great too and is my favorite rifle to take to the range. I am a sucker for open sites on a rifle. |

I've had good luck with their rimfire conversions over the years-can't speak about their other products though as I don't own any (aside from several CMMG branded rimfire mags).
The couple of times I've had to contact them with questions they have been prompt, professional, and courteous Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |
