I'v got a RRA lower with a RRA LPK and my trigger pull is pretty heavy. I don't have a way of testing it, but I can lift the whole rifle by the trigger without it breaking.

Here is the rifle setup.

RRA lower and LPK
Magpul MOE grip
Magpul trigger guard
Magpul ASAP
Vltor Modstock
LMT 14.5" upper with perm attached 51T Blackout
LMT charging handle
BCM BCG
Daniel Defense Omega rail
Tango down stubby grip
3 KAC rail panels
Troy BUIS

Wow, that sounds like something must be binding in the trigger.  My gun for work clocks in at 4.5lbs exactly but it also has a JP trigger that is amazing.  My first rifle was a RRA and it had a decent trigger, nothing wonderful but it was still probably in the 5 lb range by just guessing, never measured it.  I would probably pull it apart and make sure everything is installed correctly.

Ive found stock triggers are generally 5 - 9 pounds

Emory cloth will make it much smoother, but not much lighter

I have a Timney that breaks at 3.5#, a Giessele SSA that breaks at 2#'s AFTER the initial take up which is 3.2#. My Rock RIver breaks at 5.5# and my LWRC is close to 9#'s

I had one that was 9.5-10.5#, not sure who made it, and I had a horrible Colt five-stage that was about 7.5#; both were replaced with Geisseles.

A crisp , clean 5 pounds ..
Of course, I'm a notorious trigger stoner

7 pounds seems to be average.  I have never encountered a stock trigger that was much lower, but have rarely found any that were higher after some judicious part switching.

1 - factory S&W with jp yellow springs 4-1/2lbs
1 - Timney 3-1/2lbs
1.- PSA lower with PSA standard LPK with JP yellow springs 4-1/2lbs

My S&W M&P 15 Sport had a trigger pull over 8lb, that's as high as my trigger pull gauge goes. I would guestimate it was around 9 to 10 lb. I just got a great bonus from work so bought a Timney 4 lb assembly, absolutely outstanding trigger. Smooth, repeatable 4 lb every pull, crisp break. What more can you ask.

Have you lubed the FCG?

A little oil goes a long way on a bone dry rifle.

I believe that you would find that the milspec for trigger pull on an issue rifle is 8-10 foot pounds.

If you want to go lighter, with going to a custom or drop in trigger group, you can buy a set of reduced tension springs from a company like JP Engineering with the cavat that when you switch to a lighter FCG Spring set (like the JP or a homemade spring set (some people cut one leg off the hammer pin) you risk creating a problem with FTF with the harder primers used by some ammo manufacturers.

The JP spring set (hammer, trigger, and disconnector) is only abour $10-$11.  If it doesn't work for you, you aren't risking much.  It's advertised to drop your trigger release tension down to around 4-5 pounds.

You can also try replacing the springs with other stock springs.  They cost even less, and you might get lucky.  I've used springs from several manufacturers, and the lightest I've gotten consistantly have come from PSA in their LPKs.

Yes, FCG is well lubed.

KAC 2 stage with the 3.5 lb red spring installed. Have these in 3 of my rifles and I love them.

I have some Geissele triggers that are light and excellent (SD3G, DMR, Hi-Speed). I have also done trigger jobs on standard FCGs which feel great when a lighter trigger spring is used. I have tried to stay away from light hammer springs with the standard FCGs, just in case I run across ammo with stubborn primers. The absolute worst factory trigger that I have ever felt was on a S&W M&P 15 that a local shop is raffling off on 9-11. It is "Are you kidding me?" heavy . Must have been at least 8-9#. It was so bad that I couldn't stop laughing
