With normal semi auto use and regular maintenance how long woud a good quality lower receiver last ? I've hear that the trigger pins on a lower can egg out  with time and use, and that one can buy those anti rotational pins to prevent the wear. Are those special pins B.S. or do they really work ? I live in NY and have a pre ban lower so lower receiver wear  is a issue.

Thanks,

Your would be hard pressed to wear out a receiver, but it has happened.  If you were investing in a FA lower, or lived in an AWB state, I can see where there might be concern.

I think some older receivers from some choice companies had bad wear out issues but new receivers I think will last pretty much indeffinate unless there is a catasrophic failure somehow.

A well made receiver should last nearly a lifetime with care.  I recently shot a General Motors Hydramatic M16A1 that looked as though it had been through much of the Vietnam Conflict.......two or three times.  Despite having been simply recoated with Mil Spec Solid Lubricant Film about five times and looking like death warmed over it STILL shot like a good AR should shoot.  Consider that this GM M16A1 was mostly made in the mid to late SIXTIES and still shot pretty well, considering, I'd say that any receiver made close to Mil spec, as far as Materials, Heat Treat and Critical Dimensions goes, should last you a lifetime provided you care for it.
