I bought a Spike's Mid-length LE Upper and would like to go a little retro (think Bushmaster Dissipator) with it.  I want to move the FSB forward, and put a low profile gas block and rifle length hand-guards on it.  Question is, how do I position the FSB perfectly vertically, and how do I notch the barrel for the taper pins?  Are jigs available, or am I better sending the barrel off to a smith?

FSB fixture

Personally I'd send it to ADCO or sell the barrel and buy one of theirs.

Thanks for the resource.  I'll probably just send it off and let them do it properly.

You will have a problem as the area in front of the gas block is undersized. I have seen the barrel diameter anywhere from .740 down to .720
A standard FSB won't fit unless you sleeve it or turn the barrel down to .625 and use a .625 FSB.
