I need to take the buttstock off my RRA Varmint so I can install my Magpul PRS. How do I go about this? I know I'm stupid for not knowing this but I've never done it before.

Take the screw out of the back end of the buttstock.

That would be the top one. No need to remove the bottom screw.

The best way to remove the buttstock is to put the gun muzzle down on the floor. Remove the screw and slowly lift the stock off the receiver extension (buffer tube). The spring and detent for the rear take down pin is held in place by the stock. Remove the stock too fast and the spring WILL go flying off to parts unknown.

Make sure the bolt is forward.  Don't need any extra tension on the buffer spring!!!

Makes no difference as long as you're only removing the buttstock and not the receiver extension too.
