I have the Magpul MIAD grip.  So how the hell do you remove the existing trigger guard?  Any links to pictures of how it is done?

Check under the "information" tab.
Basically you just push in the front detent on the right side to remove the front portion of the guard, then use a roll punch to drive out the rear pin.

suport those ears when removing that roll pin. they can break easy.

Make sure you use a roll pin punch. If you use just a regular punch, it can be a major PITA. Support the ears with a block of wood covered by a rag, so you don't scratch the finish.

Use a vice grip wrapped in electrical tape to reinstall the roll pin. Then tap it home with the punch.

Cutting torch?  Actually removal is quite easy with the right sized punch, it was the process of getting the pin back in that sucked for me.

The easy way to get it back in, is to not drive it all the way out in the first place, unless you absolutely HAVE to.

Thanks Quib.  I didn't realize the front pinge was a plunger pin and couldn't figure out how to get that out.

Glad to help! I just hate seeing posts about TG removal where the shooter breaks off a receiver TG ear!

Discretion being the better part of valor, I think I'm going to forgo trying to remove the trigger guard on my factory Colt SBR.  I hate to know the TG ear off and be SOL.

If you support the receiver TG ear with a block of wood you should be ok. I used a block of 2X4 with a hole drilled in it to accept the roll pin as I tapped it out.

Like mentioned earlier, only knock the roll pin out far enough to remove and replace the TG.
