I need a 14.5” rifle to round out my collection. I would go between this and my 11.5” Super Duty for range use, training, courses, drills, etc. I would put a 1-6x LPVO on top. < 300 yards shooting. I would add a Surefire RC 4 mini preferably. I have several Surefires and would prefer that to HUXWRX (I own those as well). I would prefer to do a pin and weld, although the 5320.20 may go away soon.

I am sort of leaning to the Colt M5 due to price, the larger/heavier steel barrel nut and barrel for heat dissipation, ambi lower and lack of rail deflection if I choose to mount a laser.

Take a look at the DD RIS III as well, have one (home build) here and am quite pleased.

If you already have an SD, get a 14.5” Geissele SD upper.

Geisselle near clone has the sf 4p already I believe
Pair with the LMT or mod 1 I believe it is.
LMT is solid, intuitive ambi controls.

Noveske Afghan, love it in 556 and 300. Shop well, and they can be found used for what would be new money on a BCM to G$.
