How good is IMI for quality of production?

It's as good as it gets. Ammo is clean, consistant and you'll be so much happier than any XM ammo you buy, you'll wish you bought more. You will be delighted, I have no doubt about it.

It's probably equal to military grade Lake City. Not the XM(as mentioned), but the stuff our troops use. On what do you base this? Isn't it also possible that IMI has lots rejected just like Lake City and then sell the stuff just like ATK sells XM193/XM855? |

Just finished checking 1 case/1200 IMI m193, finally (it took a few days). Exactly 1200 rounds. 40 boxes, 30 per box, no rejects........But please, don't buy any........I want to buy some more next month, and I don't want them to run out! |

The main thing that has me apprehensive is the asphalt sealant they use around the case mouth. I am not sure how comfortable I am running that through my bore... unless I had to. Your bore will be fine brother. That's what's on the menu for true U.S. mil-spec M855. You don't have to stress about looking down your bore and finding it's been "black topped" |

I just hate cleaning guns any more than I have to. ie: I clean them when they're dirty, but I like to postpone that point as long as possible. More technically though, I am concerned about stuff like chemical reactions and small microscopic build ups that may lead to premature pitting. But knowing that that crap isn't gonna cake up in the rifling grooves is a definite plus. |
