Have a IOR 4x24 m2.  Can anyone tell me (or point me to a source) how the range finding reticules work.  I have it sighted in at 100 yards but I'm not certain how to use the 8,6,4,2, marks at the bottom.  The instruction I received with the scope were very limited.

Does your reticle look like this?

Looks like a target of a given height (mebbe a metre or 40") will fit between the horizontal lines when at the stated (8,6,4,2 in hundreds) range.

This is the Drag reticle, same principle. Target as shown is at 400

Thanks!  So in your example the target would be 400 yards, therefore I would make "click" elevation adjustments to 400.  Think I got it!

I had an M2, I think the rangefinder is calibrated on a meter (1/2 a guy basically).

The instructions are a joke, a bunch of guys didn't get any. I remember faxing my copy to a bunch of guys a year or so ago.

If the scope has a BDC you can set it to 400 +/-(they never track perfectly) or, if there is no BDC, you apply your 400 yd/m come up for zero.

It has a BDC supposedly calibrated to 62gr out of a 20" but I never took it to a range long enough to test mine.
